Malamalama Spring Faire

Friday, Joe and Elijah spent some time helping set up at school for the Spring Faire. The grades performed for the crowd with song and music. Beautiful job by all, as usual.

I was able to get one picture of Elijah from afar as he played the recorder and a video of him strutting his stuff down the runway in the Trash Fashion Show. I unfortunately missed the start when the MC yelled, 'There's Elijah in the house'. He made his costume of a black trash bag, yellow belt from the bag, and a foil chain necklace...the TRASH MAN was created.

There is a woman who is a professor of dance in Korea spending the year studying hula in her research for a book she is writing. Her son is in Lotus' class. There last name is also Park. The dance she performed was one that is done for digniteries in Korea. It was beautiful.

Lotus spent most of her day hanging upside down. The folks that make these gyro gyms hung many from the mango tree out front of the school. The kids had a blast, looking like monkies swinging from the tree. The took many pictures of Lotus and want to use them in there next promo for their swings. Lotus is beginning her modeling career.

Lotus IN STYLE........

Lotus spent the week home with a very low grade fever that didn't break until late Thursday. Although under the weather and missing school, she still had the desire and energy to dress herself up for a brief errand run with mom and dad to Hilo.

More photos

Couldn't resist sending out some more pics. Nothing new happening. Our days are filled with children both at school and home. Elijah and Lotus are busy with play dates and loving on Aila.

Elijah helps out when Aila is crying. Such a great big brother!

Lotus prefers a happy baby.

Elijah's calming method in the swing.

Is this not the cutest dress. Thanks to Noni Julie in Alaska we are ready for summer!

Sleeping on her cloud @ 5 1/2 weeks.
This was a sheep skin from Elijah's baby days.

Aunt Gail sent many cute outfits but one of our favorites is this soft Ralph Lauren sleeper.

When the kids were tiny they had THE BEST sitter of all times, Lauren. She took time out of her busy days to come spend time with us and have dinner before departing on her new journey living in Panama with her special beau.

6 weeks

Staying after school in 'after care' can really take the wind out of your sails.

 6 1/2 weeks

She is filling up those arms. I don't know if it is our age or what but she seems very heavy for her age (12 pounds).

My brother is sooo funny.

Yes, that is a bunny, Fluffy, with the chickens.

So in my crazy thinking, I decided to knit a sling to carry the princess. The trouble began when it was time to wet felt it....it shrunk too much but is still usable but not comfortable.

Now I had to take several of these pictures. What a lovely ensemble Aunt June knitted. I thought the hat and sweater looked too big but was I surprised when we tried it on her. What an adorable bunny.
THANK YOU JUNE!!!!

BOY SCOUTS

Elijah has been in scouts for over a year now and seems to really enjoy it. He received his wolf badge this year and a very thoughtful award for his good work. He is also really excited to have done well enough in the car races to proceed to the second phase. We need to talk to Uncle Addison to get some tips on racing.

Lotus is an honorary scout - she rarely misses a meeting.

BEACH DAY

There is a beautiful beach on the west side of the island known as Mauna Kea Beach. It is a perfect family beach with suttle waves, sun, and shade.
It was luck that we had kept this beach tent and thankfully we did.

Normally I get lots of action pics of the kids at the beach. They spent the entire day in the water with Joe but to far for me to get any pictures.

Lotus enjoying some yogurt. Check out the water color in the background...beautiful.

BABY G - Now known as AILA

February was a busy month and it is so hard to believe Aila will soon be 7 weeks old. It is true the older we get the faster it goes. Does this mean my children will grow up even faster than normal?

Aila was born February 21 @ 11:04 pm weighing 8 #s 3.5 oz. We were so blessed to have her in the comfort of our home. Joe and I had Dr. Hahn attend the birth as we did with Lotus. Both Elijah and Lotus were there and Elijah cut the cord. WOW!

I saw something the other day that said 50 was the new 30....I agree with that!

Lotus gets the bundle first

Love this smile of a proud brother.

Lotus loves her baby sister.

I knitted two of these cocoons for friends after seeing the lovely one Arrott has. This one is out of Alpaca...so so soft.

Check out the cheeks at 4 days old.

One of several new realities. I love these colorful reuseable diapers.
