SUMMER IN FULL SWING

I can't believe June is leaving us and mid-summer approaches. We have been so busy and trying to have a lot of fun dispersed among the hours of work and mundane chores.

Aila is becoming our little young gardener. We had our first camping trip to Spencer Beach which was 'winded' out as you can see by the tree limb close to our tent. Joe came home with a Jackson Chameleon he found on the road and HER name is Jackie or sometimes sassy Jacksie. She is giving us much entertainment, especially at feeding time. Lotus is enjoying her paint by number.

Music, music, music....if we are not listening to it, we are playing it. Elijah and I just began our summer Ukulele lessons. I had spent so much time trying to coordinate them with a master player and the school that I decided I should take the time to enjoy the class too. I can't believe how much I learned the first day.

As you have seen, it had been quite a while since Elijah had a haircut. So we decided on a whim to go for a short/spiked look yesterday while in Hilo. We also enjoyed a bit of beach play and park explorations.

What a great day and what great children I have with such beautiful hearts!

Aila and I with our friend Louona as we assess our camping situation...too much wind!

Kids enjoyed scooting around the park during their short camping trip.

With the winds...I didn't get to take too many pictures.

Can't beat mixing Hilo errands with some beach/park time! Water, beach, bubbles...nothing more needed!

Elijah sporting his new SHORT haircut!

THIS IS MY FAVORITE

These small trees look so much like holly.

The two tiny figures to the right of the bridge are Elijah and Lotus.

Knit Phenomenon

My Aunt June is quite the knitter. I want to thank her for all the love and hard work she put into creating this adorable dress for Aila. It will be a keepsake.

Pana'ewa Zoo

Yesterday, we spent the afternoon at the Pana'ewa Zoo. Took pictures of the playground that was built last year next to the petting zoo area. Great place with shade. Luckily we didn't need the shade tents as there were enough clouds to keep things cool and in low light.

Ian, check it out!

The portion the kids are on is located on the far side of the pic below. There are three pods of climbing with one for little ones in the foreground. Two additional shaded areas. The one barely showing to the right is just in front of the petting zoo entrance. Not pictured to the left is the covered pavilion with picnic tables.
