OMG

I have been working all week on some projects for our school's upcoming Spring Faire. These are the Blossom Babies complete and ready to go to their new homes. Thanks to Mom, I will have a few more special items to give to the school as a fundraiser...stay tuned for more pictures as we near mid-April. I also heard my Aunt June will be making something special too. We are so lucky to have such Aloha being created and sent across the country to us.

These are made of velvet and wool felt. Great for the seasonal nature table.

SPRING BREAK

It was a year ago Aila went on her first camping trip with the family so it was fitting to take the kids on another adventure. We went to Spencer Beach on the west side of the island for three days of sun and fun. We also had a new tent to try out, one that is much more roomy. We all had a great time! No sunburns!

I hate to admit it but I think this was her first beach time..

...and she didn't eat a bit of sand!

This is one of my favorites. Her interest was so intense.

Naps are always welcome

Yes, that is an air mattress. I said I would never get one and here it is. Gotta love car camping.

What is a beach without some bubbles...and grass for crawling around.

Lotus riding a scooter through the sprinklers on our last morning.

Another favorite of mine...

I could not have done this without the help of Elijah and Lotus. They are the best brother/sister team to take along camping. The last morning the winds whipped up and they really had to pitch in and man the fort. Can't wait until next time!

LOTUS TURNS SIX

February 27th Lotus turned six years old. WOW! He day began at school with a beautiful birthday celebration. This was followed by snack and the making of ice cream. Lotus LOVES everything chocolate (especially dark) and wanted to make chocolate ice cream. Knowing what ingredients were going in I thought adding the caffeine of chocolate would be too much for these young ones so to make everyone happy I decided to use carob instead. I am sure you have guessed it, the kids new something was up at the first bite. Some even thought there was a hint of coffee. The teachers were happy to know it was carob and most of the children didn't seem to mind the varied taste on chocolate. Lotus helped to serve up the ice cream with blueberries, blackberries, bananas, strawberries, and coconut. YUM YUM!!

While Lotus' main teacher, Auntie Allyson, works on her healing Auntie Heather has stepped in as lead teacher. What a great job she is doing.

For each child's birthday, their classmates bring them a gift from nature. Lotus' teacher, Auntie Allyson made her a very sweet sewing basket.

And yes, then there was the home celebration. Lotus requested a chocolate cake and then she did most of the decorating with the fondant.

PARTY ON!

Before the birthdays we had to make a trip to Kona for the biannual dentist trip. We took the kids for a little fun at the Sheraton. Aila was sick so she spent her time in her stroller watching the others.

First I had to add this one of her b-day attire...trouble ahead.

Our little camera didn't capture the beautiful snow as we drove over saddle road to Kona.

While at the Sheraton, we met a family Joe knows and they had a five year old girl...much fun!
