AILA IS ONE....HAPPY HAPPY DAY!

Well we cannot believe that it was just a year ago today Aila entered our family. The kids were reminiscing and they too could not believe Aila turns '1' today. With both of them at the birth, Lotus says she liked 'her being born' and Elijah liked 'cutting the cord'.

Considering the foreseen mess, the kids suggested Aila open her present before cake.

When she saw the candle she began to say 'hot'.

.

And you certainly are right to think that couldn't be chocolate...I made a millet cake with carob nut butter icing.

A Big Kiss

A look at her past as we seek her future filled with love

Just for your entertainment........

Lotus has been so patient with how she wanted to spend her Christmas money. The other day we did the rare visit to Target where her mom and dad did what they said they never would...let her buy a pair of high heels. Rules have been set and she only wears them in the house.

Rudolf Steiner who founded and developed Waldorf education said that the 6 year change is a glimpse into the child's life as a teen. CAN'T WAIT!

HAPPY VALENTINES

Happy Valentines to you all and a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY KIM!

The kids have been so busy making their cards this year. Each year I think it will be Elijah's last year he will be willing to give cards. When it comes down to it he is excited to 'share the love'.

Aila's hair has been growing so I made her a heart clip.

Painted cards complete.

They each signed the backs and Lotus added yarn to her cards for a necklace.

LOVE LOVE LOVE

Wanted to give a simple recipe for making CHOCOLATE PRETZELS:

Have your Flour Girl measure 2 cups flour
Cocoa Cutie add 1/2 cup cocoa
Sugar Sweetie add 1/2 cup sugar
Butter Bambino adds 2 3/4 oz butter
Your Crack Up adds 1 egg
Water Wonder adds 4 T water (1/4 cup)

Mix together, Knead. Give each child a ball to roll out into a snake. Form into either a pretzel or any shape they like. For Valentines you could ice and sprinkle them. I sprinkled them with some pink sugar before baking.

Bake 350 for 10-12 minutes.

I doubled the recipe to have enough for school and home. ENJOY!

February is flying.....

We are beginning to get in gear for valentines with the hopes of finishing our projects this weekend. Elijah is not quite on board with making cards for his classmates. I think he thinks he is 'too big' for it.

I realized that I need to start planning for birthday(S). Will Aila get a cake? Party for Lotus? Lots to think about but first I'll just enjoy today and share some of those moments with you.

Yes, Aila too has the gift for gab.

The kids are such GREAT helpers. Here Lotus enjoys feeding Aila and she seems to enjoy it just as much.

Dinner prep time.

Elijah is always the entertainer.

Every time we buy a pineapple we cut the tops and plant them in the yard. FINALLY, we have one gifting us back.

Thank You Grandma

Mom has been busy creating these beautiful knitted items for the children. They certainly can feel that every stitch was made with love.

Elijah says he will wear it to school today!

And what better gift for a Pahoa fashionista...rainbow leggings.

Of course there were other very cute items in the box to accessorize.

Elijah has been working on a project in his handwork class. He created a design on linen from which he sewed the bag, chain stitched the design and added tabs to the top to cinch it closed. The bag is used for storing his handwork projects at school as well has transporting them to home and back.

ANOTHER BABY COCOON

A friend of mine, Etta Mae, is preparing to have her second baby. I could not resist making another cocoon and of course I had to make it different from the others. I used one of my favorite yarns, Lamb's Pride bulky roving.

January Completed

I can hardly believe January has come to a close and soon Aila will turn 1 and Lotus 6.

First opportunity and it's mastered!

Going for the pout.

Appa's little girls

View of Elijah playing soccer down below in Honoka'a.

Aila and Arrott will have to paint together one day soon.

Can't beat a box car.

Trick my ride

It IS my diaper and NOT my bootie!

Luckily for a short time this month Lotus was liking Justin Beiber.

Just as sister does so goes Aila.

Elijah and Lotus had fun with video spotting.

Aila usually does a type of run until she heard action.

I included this one because you get a glimpse of her modeling pout.
