Elijah's Birthday
It is so hard to believe that it has been nine years ago. We celebrated at home on his day with his favorites of salmon and apple pie. As usual, his teacher decorated his desk, presented him with a book and the class sang some lovely songs which I meant to record. I was so enjoying the moment I forgot - mommy brain.
May Day is Lei Day In Hawaii
May Day is such a beautiful time of the year in Hawaii. Here is a shot of Lotus and Elijah before the festivities began. Later you'll see they look a bit different. Elijah had his shirt tucked but when he along with his class came out to perform, all the boys had their shirts out. Lotus as usual ditched the shoes.

This is the first year Elijah's class danced the May Pole.
Pretty in her outfit from Aunt Gail!
Boys wanting to rid themselves of their monkey suits.
Lotus and her friend Aurora with their usual bare feet.
Lotus climbing the ropes to obtain candies from the hanging basket. Great hit with the kids.
Boy Scout Camping at Pohoiki
The Boy Scouts had such a great time camping two nights at Pohoiki (local surf spot). Joe and Elijah went
for both nights while I brought the girls for the second night. I had a hard time catching Elijah on film but was able to catch Lotus in quite a few.

Lotus and Joe headed out to catch a wave.
Ready for her first tent camping
.
Little did I know when I purchased this tent for my Alaskan adventure I would be sleeping in it with my little angel Aila. Yes, I still have it. Joe slept with Elijah and Lotus in a larger tent nearby.
Sweater from Grandma kept me nice and warm.
